Things I’m Loving…

Hey loves! Is it me or has summer flown by?! I swear it feels like 4thof July was only two weeks ago, but it’s about to be Labor Day. Time flies when you’re having fun right?  I wanted to share a few things that I’ve fallen in love with over the last couple of months…

Into the Water

Since I completed and released my three- part series, “Dilemmas of a Damsel” (Parts I-III), I’ve had time to sit back, relax, and READ for fun! It’s been such a long time I forgot how much I loved it. About a week after my third novel was released, I picked up “Into the Water” by Paula Hawkins. It’s a mix of thriller and mystery… and I am hooked! I first stumbled upon Paula Hawkins’ work when I read “The Girl on the Train”, and was eager to read this one once I laid eyes on it. Basically, it’s a story about a small town that is devastated by constant tragedy and misfortune, all because of this little river that runs through it. Some deaths are by suicide, some are by accident, and some are from murder. It’s definitely kept me on the edge of my seat and I’m extremely happy with my purchase.

Love Is__

If you follow me on social media, I’m sure you noticed my obsession with  the OWN show, Love Is__. I mean, I’m a hopeless romantic, so a show about love, more specifically black love, just makes my heart smile. The show is inspired by creators and producers – Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil. And demonstrates how, despite being in two completely different places in their lives, two people made love work on their terms. Not only am I just swooning over the cast (Nuri is played by Michelle Weaver, and Yasir is played by Will Catlett), but the show is set in the late 90’s (yassss!). Your girl has gotten all types of feels when I watched this show. I think that what I love most about it, is that it makes you think and evaluate your own relationships. Sadly, season one has just ended and I’m forced to twiddle my thumbs until season two starts! But if you haven’t watched it, be sure to get comfy, pour a glass of wine, and binge watch the season! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear 24 Hour Foundation

This summer has been hot and unforgiving! In the past, I’ve struggled to find a foundation that would last against the heat/humidity on my combination skin. That was until I was introduced to the Lancome 24 hour foundation. It retails for about $47 but I definitely think it’s worth every penny. Honey… when I say this stuff has been life-changing… I mean it! First of all, I love the smooth finish, and in my opinion, a little goes a long way. Not only that, it matches my skin tone (Shade 540) very closely and it really lasts throughout the day . I did a bit of traveling and spent days at the pool (Yes I wear makeup lol) and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it stood up. I definitely plan to continue wearing this foundation with the cooler months ahead. Probably paired with a bold red lip? What do you think?

What are some things you’re loving right now? I’ always open to trying new things! Leave your suggestions in the comments! xoxo…
