What’s the key to true happiness? Is it love, wealth, finding your inner peace, or all of the above? Many of us are on our own unique journey in life with regards to seeking and maintaining true happiness. But the truth of the matter is, life isn’t all rainbows, unicorns and sunny days. Sometimes we experience disappointment, hardships, betrayal, and failure which can, at times, foster negative feelings. This of course is normal. So why do we feel guilty for feeling bad? Toxic positivity is one of the reasons.
Social media is a two-headed beast. Social media has forever changed our lives and how we interact with one another. Social media, essentially, is what you make it. In my case, social media became one of the main triggers of my anxiety. Although I love the potential it has with moving us forward as a society; I hate the bullshit that comes along with it. And let’s be honest – THERE’S A LOT OF BULLSHIT!
The whole doing everything for likes, fraudulent lifestyles, and unfair and unrealistic pressure it puts on us all is just not my cup of tea. So on October 28th, 2018 – I deactivated all of my accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
