La Vida en San Juan...

So last month, my boyfriend and I took our first vacation (aka BAE-cation) together. Our destination of choice was non-other than San Juan, Puerto Rico. With the help of my girlfriend Bashairra who is a kick-ass travel agent, we were able to have not only a memorable but also amazing getaway! For starters, we were picked up by our own private driver (AKA Rihanna's long lost twin sister) who was super friendly and very informative. Then, we were taken to the beautiful Intercontinental San Juan hotel in Isla Verde which was situated right on the beach with a wide range of different restaurants, a pool bar, and gym (although I FORGOT to use it)! As soon as we touched down, we were eager to soak in the city and everything it had to offer. And let me tell you - it was a trip to remember!

Now I’m not going to divulge into every juicy detail of my trip but I'm happy to share some of my favorite things about this beautiful place…

1.    The culture

I love going to places where I feel like I am walking/seeing/breathing in history. San Juan definitely had a lot to offer and I was not at all disappointed! One thing that stood out was how diverse of a place it was, diverse and romantic. I don't know what it is, but something about Spanish speaking countries (well territory in this case) makes me feel all giddy inside. In addition to that - I loved trying the different food, listening to the music, and just being a part of it all!

2.    The scenery

Whether we were strolling the cobblestone streets in Old San Juan, enjoying a sunset boat ride along the coast, exploring the El Yunque rainforest, or barhopping in La Placita - the scenery was captivating! At every turn there was something that was so striking and beautiful to look at. I don’t know how many pictures we took, but it was a hell of a lot. From the street art to the historical monuments, or the colorful buildings - San Juan is definitely a place where you can come and get lost in the architecture.

3.    The people

When I tell you that from the time that we stepped off of the plane until the time we stepped back on to come home, every single person was so nice! Boyfriend and I made a bunch of new buddies with the locals and other tourists. In doing so, we were able to learn so much about the city, which contributed to a more meaningful and authentic experience.

All in all I had an amazing trip. San Juan definitely holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to visiting again...
