Hello my loves! Y’all know that I’m on a serious budget while I’m on my journey towards becoming debt free. But, who’s to say that you can’t have a little fun while tackling your goals? So, when I was invited on a trip to Antigua and all I had to cover was my flight… I simply couldn’t resist. I must say, my little guilt-free getaway came right on time. During my time away I had some time to relax and more importantly, reflect. Here are 3 key lessons I learned while vacationing in Antigua. Continue Reading
I like to think of Miami as the paradise of the United States. Being the east coast girl that I am – I don’t have easy access to tropical like weather, white sands and crystal blue waters. So when my boyfriend decided to take me to Miami for my 30th birthday, I was more than ready for a quick escape before the winter accompanied by cold winds and snow, take over my life for the next few months. Since I’ve been working tirelessly promoting my debut self-published novel Dilemmas Of a Damsel, I’ve put any major travel plans on hold. Lord knows that I would love to have my toes in the sand while listening to the waves and sipping a huge strawberry margarita.(Sacrifices people, sacrifices!) However, with my boyfriend’s birthday coming up I opted for the next best thing: a quick weekend getaway. Being from the Philadelphia area, the main options were D.C. and New York. I instantly decided on NYC. Don’t get me wrong, I love D.C. but New York City is one of my absolute favorite places to visit in the summer. What’s not to love rooftop parties, walks in Central Park, and shopping on 5th Avenue?
So last month, my boyfriend and I took our first vacation (aka BAE-cation) together. Our destination of choice was non-other than San Juan, Puerto Rico. With the help of my girlfriend Bashairra who is a kick-ass travel agent, we were able to have not only a memorable but also amazing getaway! For starters, we were picked up by our own private driver (AKA Rihanna’s long lost twin sister) who was super friendly and very informative. Then, we were taken to the beautiful Intercontinental San Juan hotel in Isla Verde which was situated right on the beach with a wide range of different restaurants, a pool bar, and gym (although I FORGOT to use it)! As soon as we touched down, we were eager to soak in the city and everything it had to offer. And let me tell you – it was a trip to remember!
When I think of the gem known as Los Angeles, California, I think of glitz & glam. Like, as soon as you step foot off the plane you’ll be welcomed with a bunch of glitter and a kick-ass martini. When I was younger, I always imagined coming to this place. It was something about the great weather, beautiful homes, and just being in close proximity with the rich and famous that always appealed to me. As I got older, I guess I became an adult at some point and punked out (life happens). Continue Reading
