Summer is right around the corner! One of the most common summer goals is to reach your body goals. This has many different meanings for different peopled, but I think it is safe to say that most of us want to be more healthy. We want to feel and be the best version of ourselves, inside and out. Over the last two weeks, I shared that I desired this for myself. In my post “What to do When You Hate Diets” I revealed my struggles with my weight and that really want to reach my goal weight once and for all. Well, I am happy to say that I am less than five pounds away from reaching that mark. Keep reading to see what I’m doing.
How I’m Reaching My Goal Weight
So, when I started this journey, I weighed in at 167 pounds. In order to meet my goal weight, I’d have to lose seventeen pounds. Pretty simple right? We all know that in order to reach certain health and fitness goals, working out is only one part of the equation, the other and sometimes more important part is eating habits. Long story short, I knew that if I wanted to reach my fitness goals, I’d have to be committed to changing my eating habits. I explain all of that here. But here is the thing… I HATE dieting!
However, with the help of Joel Marion and his book, “Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight” I have found a way to shed the extra weight without feeling deprived. What’s the secret? Intermittent fasting, and a great meal plan!
Intermittent Fasting
I’ve tried intermittent fasting in the past, so I am no stranger to it. In the past, I felt like it was hard to keep up with. But after reading about all the benefits and research of intermittent fasting and how to do it the right way, I’m finding it much simpler to follow. Intermittent fasting is important for a number of reasons, as you’ll see in the excerpt below.
“Intermittent fasting really shines when it comes to improving the hormones that directly affect your hunger, blood sugar, and metabolism. One is insulin. IF combats insulin resistance, meaning that it helps your body use insulin more normally, thereby lowering your diabetes risk and boosting your metabolism.” – Joel Marion
Based on surprising science, Always Eat After 7 PM debunks popular diet myths and offers an easy-to-follow diet that accelerates fat-burning and allows you to indulge in your most intense food cravings: Eating the majority of your calories at night.
Meal Plans
Meal plans are another thing that I am loving about this book. Joel Marion does a great job crafting a meal plan that is super easy to follow and maintain. In addition to that, he provides a massive list of recipes that you can try. My personal favorites being the Teriyaki Meatballs and the Cheesy Ground Beef Skillet. I love these two recipes because they are super simple to make and so satisfying! I especially love the Teriyaki Meatballs, because they can easily be prepped ahead and frozen. Joel Marion’s Always Eat After 7PM program makes dieting easy and eliminates 90% of reasons for resistance. Check out all of the delicious meals to choose from… and there are so many more options available in the book!
