I like to think of Miami as the paradise of the United States. Being the east coast girl that I am – I don’t have easy access to tropical like weather, white sands and crystal blue waters. So when my boyfriend decided to take me to Miami for my 30th birthday, I was more than ready for a quick escape before the winter accompanied by cold winds and snow, take over my life for the next few months. Miami is a place many people go to party, soak up the sun, and feel good. It’s the perfect destination to enjoy with friends, family, and your boo thang. I’m fortunate enough to have been to Miami on more than one occasion, and each trip is a little different than the last. Going with my boyfriend was definitely something new, and I loved it. Instead of partying into all hours of the night nonstop – I really got a chance to relax and enjoy my birthday. I have to say, it was truly an amazing time! Here are some of my favorite moments…
1. The Hotel of South Beach
We stayed at this super cute hotel. Upon checking in, the staff was so welcoming and helpful. When they found out it was my birthday – they instantly offered to upgrade my room to a suite. Loved it! Not only that, I fell in love with their rooftop pool and bar. On our last day, we spent the entire day there. It was so relaxing and fun and the 2 for 1 drink specials made it that much better!
2. Wynwood District
OMG can I just say how much I love Wynwood! It is literally a blogger’s dream. The photo opps are endless! No honestly, South Beach is cool but Wynwood is definitely where the cool kids go. From the endless street art and murals, to the super cute and hip cafes and restaurants, and funky art galleries it was the highlight of my trip.
3. The Villa – Casa Casuarina
Otherwise known as the Versace Mansion. Boyfriend did an amazing job surprising me for my birthday dinner at Gianni’s! I mean – who doesn’t love Versace? The space and decor was to die for! Even better – we had the entire place to ourselves while we enjoyed a delicious meal. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. My 30th birthday dinner was definitely one for the books.
Well guys that pretty much sums up my trip! If you haven’t been to Miami in a while, I’d def suggest going. Who doesn’t love a little fun in the sun?
